Highlight: If you have young children who don’t understand the potential danger of firearms, it’s essential that you keep them safely stored. Placing them in this pistol safe is a responsible way to properly secure your small firearms at home or on the go.California DOJ certified

Helpful review: "I recently purchased a gun safe from Amazon, and I am extremely pleased with my purchase. This gun safe has proven to be a reliable and secure storage solution for my firearms, providing me with the peace of mind I was looking for.
One of the standout features of this gun safe is its solid construction. It is built with durable materials that give it a sturdy and robust feel. The door thickness and overall build quality inspire confidence that my firearms are well protected. The safe also has a pry-resistant design, adding an extra layer of security against unauthorized access.
The locking mechanism on this gun safe is top-notch. It utilizes an electronic keypad, which allows for quick and easy access while keeping my firearms secure. The keypad is backlit, making it convenient to use even in low-light conditions. Additionally, the safe comes with a backup key in case the electronic system malfunctions, providing an alternative way to access my firearms if needed.
Another aspect that I appreciate about this gun safe is its spacious interior. It comfortably accommodates multiple firearms, ammunition, and other valuables. The adjustable shelves and interior organization options make it easy to customize the storage space according to my specific needs.
Furthermore, the safe offers excellent protection against fire and water damage. It is fire-resistant, providing a specific duration of fire protection for my firearms in case of an emergency. The water-resistant feature adds an extra layer of protection, safeguarding my firearms from potential water damage." — selenehwang
Trending review: "I purchased this to secure my handguns from not only the grandkids, but others who may visit with us. The safe came nicely boxed and was very easy to set up. I was able to program 3 different fingerprints and a new PIN to open the safe in a matter of minutes. Very, very easy set up. The safe is very sturdy and opens nicely with some authority (give yourself some room when opening or hold your hand on the lid as it opens fast). The safe includes a foam pad to protect your guns and fits two weapons with plenty of room. Pre-drilled holes and mounting hardware are included to mount the safe to the floor, wall, or in a nightstand drawer. Not sure of how it can withstand a forced entry as the side panels (plastic) could be removed allowing access to the locking mechanism through screw holes in the metal housing. All in all, I'm pleased and it fits my needs. I'd recommend this if your looking for an economical means for safely securing your weapons from unwanted access." — Olan
Reassuring review: "So I was looking for a quick access nightstand gun safe. This one has everything I need at a super reasonable price. I didn’t buy the biometric version as I never have luck with fingerprint things. This one come with number code, keys, RFID card and RFID keychains tag. My only gripe I would say is that the RFID card and tag don’t work unless you hit 1 number first. Not a huge issue but I think you could save a 1/2 a second drawing time if you didn’t meet to hit a button first. On the same note with practice it’s not a big deal. I would buy again and recommend to anyone on a budget." — ryan

2. SentrySafe - Gun Safe with Digital Keypad and Interior Lights

Highlight: For optimal performance, SentrySafe recommends the use of four high-quality, name branded, alkaline AA batteries with an expiration date of 8-10 years from the current year. Generic and rechargeable batteries often do not have the lifespan needed to support long term usage. Capacity: 0.115 cubic ft

Helpful review: "Update 07/11/19: The gas strut has lost some of it's umph and would no longer would open the the door. While I do like the fact it doesn't smash itself open, I was forced to have to pry it with my finger nail to get it to open. I pulled the gas strut off and put in a stronger (longer) spring which fixed the issue. I'm not certain how many cycles that strut has gone through but it has to be getting close to 3,000 at this point. With this issue fixed and the safe working again I will say I'm still pleased with the safe. It's doing everything I wanted from a small handgun safe.
Update 05/06/19: I've been using this safe now for a solid 14 months without issue. The gas strut still functions well and I've encountered no issues with it's functionality. As I open this daily at least 4 times a day, I would estimate I've put the opening mechanism through around 1,700 cycles minimum. It's likely closer to 2,500 but honestly I have not been counting. I'm extrapolating based on 4 to 6 opening cycles a day. Overall I'm still very pleased with this safe as it safely holds our firearms out of sight yet easily accessible.
This is a nice safe with the only draw back the battery life. My comparison point to this is the GV2000-DLX which I used for 9 years before replacing it this year with this SentrySafe. I purchased the 2 pistol safe which snugly fits my G22 & G27 (in an IWB holster) with 4 magazines. There are a few points you should consider after using this for a month.
This is a relatively heavy safe (as it should be). I say this because if you are mounting this inside a drawer you need to be sure your drawer can handle the weight. In my application I mounted it inside a clothes drawer so it is out of sight and it worked perfectly (the depth, length and height all were a perfect match for my drawer). I like the flat layout but be warned it will not shut well with items stacked on top of the guns or magazines being stored (basically you only can stack items 1 level deep). The safe opens quietly which is really nice when I'm leaving in the morning with my significant other still sleeping. It also opens slowly and doesn't snap 100% open which I really like. You can certainly open it faster with your hand but this was a big issue I had with the GunVault safe. The door on that 2 gun safe would slam down open and wack the surface it was mounted on or your hand if in the way. Not a great design in my opinion.
As you'll find out the combination does not work until you "activate" the safe by pushing one of the buttons. This means if you have a 4 button combination you must press 5 buttons in order to activate the safe. You'll want to get used to this as opening in the middle of the night will be next to impossible if you punch in your 4-6 button combination over and over until you are locked out. The only indication is a little blue light the blinks once for every button push. I like this rather than a sound personally.
The battery life is OK and balanced by the fact it uses 4 AA's which are cheap (you really should be using rechargeables). The current batteries lasted about a month before I replaced them (the little red LED started to blink at me). I open the safe 4-10 times a day 7 days a week so it definitely got a work out. I would estimate I opened it around 175-200 times on the set of AA's (2,400 mAh cells) before changing them. The safe was still working when I changed out the batteries and it likely would have continued to work for many more opening cycles. You can likely extrapolate that if you only open the safe 2 times a day you'll likely get 3 months or so between battery changes. It's nice to note that the safe remembered my programmed combination after the battery change. Not having to reprogram after each swap makes this way easier to swap out batteries as needed.
If I could change something I would increase the height of the safe by another 2 inches to allow more "stacking" of magazines or boxes of ammunition in the safe. It would be nice to be able to keep a few more magazines with the guns being stored. Time will tell as to how this ages but so far I'm very pleased with the safe. I would recommend if you have the space to definitely go with the largest one you can buy if for no other reason than to have more room for a different holster or magazines." — Heidi B
Trending review: "First review Aug 2013, update 1/2021. Here is my experience after using two of these for over seven years.
It has two quirks: It has a slight vampire drain on batteries. You can solve this one of two ways, either hardwiring it to a common available and cheap USB source or any 5 volt DC wart, or, replace batteries twice a year no matter whether you think you need to or not, and if you use it for daily carry, replace them maybe every four months.
Second quirk is gas strut that opens heavy door. On the one I use every day I have had to replace gas strut twice since 2013. On the other one gas strut went for eight years. The good news is 7" extended and 5 1/8 compressed with 18 lbs of force are two for ten bucks on the bay and two for 13 bucks or so here. It takes about two minutes to unscrew the one in there (by hand, you need zero tools) and screw in the new strut.
Now this is NOT a superhigh security device. But no small quick access pistol safe is. No matter what you hear, none are. The ballyhooed fort knox now has half a dozen easy exploits. All small to medium safes can be opened by a teen with access to youtube or even a 70 IQ burglar with a prybar. These give you legal protection and keep away the noisy people, and work for younger kids.
What I love about this safe is it is hands down the fastest and most likely to open on the first try with the buttons alone -- in total darkness as well -- of any quick access safe. Speed and certainty MATTER. The data show that homeowners have only a few seconds to get to their firearm in many break ins, assaults', burglaries turned into home invasions etc.
here is how you set this up for ultra quick and certain button push access: Set your combo to four pushes of a single button. Say 4-4-4-4. OK so on this safe the first press doesn't count. It only lights up the buttons. so if you can put your palm anywhere on the top front of this safe you are going to light up the all buttons. At that point you can see the fourth button, it is just the last button on a line of four illuminated buttons. Just start pressing it. If you press it four times, five times, ten times, it doesn't matter it is going to open.
In fact if you press the three button twice to start by accident, if you just move over to the 4th button and start mashing it, the safe is going to open. So you do not have to wake up startled at 3am by a home invader in your home and wait to start all over if you press one wrong button. Just get right over over to whatever button you picked for your sequence and start tapping it. If you press 2 , and then 2 again by accident, and then press 4 button any amount of times, at least four times or more, it will open!
Just make sure to maintain this like any major safety tool, like your smoke alarm or fire extinguisher. If you notice lid starts to get slow, then order up a a new strut or two and get it in there. If you hear the solenoid latch click start to get softer or slower sounding replace the batteries with new Duracell's. Or even if you use it just once a week, replace batts at six months." — Attarsiya
Reassuring review: "I've used several sentry safe's over the years, most just for documents and minor valuables in case of fire. But I needed something strong, quick opening, and small to keep a pistol by the bed for self defense situations. The construction is steel, its heavy and feels sturdy. The bevel bend of the steel on top makes it much harder to pry, or to use power tools on. It easily fits my .38, 2 speed loaders, and a back up box of ammo. This is the perfect piece of mind for a pistol box. It can store any standard size pistols, namely .9mm, .357 .38 Etc. It won't hold extended barrels, so make sure you read the dimensions before you purchase.
The standout - very fast, quick release. You can choose from a 4-6 digit security code. Button's are un numbered, which will make it more difficult to hack. Once the code is entered the lid pops open quickly, giving you immediate access to your firearm. You can attach it to the floor, the wall, or a nightstand with the included lag bolts for extra security.
The Cons- The very thing to keep unwanted hands out can cost you time. After set up, and a few "practice" openings, I've found I can get the pistol out, and ready for business time in less than 5 seconds. But like all self defense situations, its best to practice "real world" situations by opening it several times. You must press a button first to "wake up" the keypad, which means if you have a 6 digit code, you will have to press 7 buttons. Not difficult once you've tried it. The buttons are a bit mushy feel wise, they don't make any sound that would let you know you've pressed the right one, so again, its a little bit of practice.
Overall I give this safe 5 stars. Security is high, entry is quick, size is important for hiding. Any safe can be cracked with the right tools, and time, but being that the average robbery/ home invasion lasts 12 minutes, I have piece of mind with my pistol not being stolen, kids can't open it, and if I need to get it out fast, I can. Great Product." — ButtMan

3. KAER - Gun Safes for Home Rifle and Pistols

Highlight: The rifle safe can hold 3-5 rifles up to 54" with/without scope. You can adjust the storage space by adjusting the shelves.External dimensions:11.8"W x 11"D x 54.13"H. Internal dimensions:11.6"W x 8.66"D x 54.13"H.The inner depth with the door closed is 8.46".

Helpful review: "First things first, this is somewhere between a gun locker and a safe. For me that is perfectly fine, I'm not expecting a freaking Batman villain to break into my home looking for civilian guns and ammo. If you need to keep steroid abusing meth heads out of your stuff, spring for a heavier duty safe.
For the rest of us, this will keep kids and unwanted guests out. Strong enough that you wouldnt try to break into it on the spot and heavy enough that it would be to annoying to pick up and steal the whole thing.
Keys, locking mechanism, door, hinges and combo pad are all really smooth functioning. Dimensions are perfect for what I needed. Will hold 5 long guns (4 will be a more comfortable fit) 2 handguns, plus ammo and mags for them all.
For those confused by the instructions, the settings button is on the inside edge of the door near where the hinges are." — Todd Family
Trending review: "Fast delivery and packed for shipping very well. Safe weights appropriately 70 pounds so I was able to set up in my living room then move to bedroom by myself.
This product was bought for locking up personal items (handguns and rifles) in a small one bedroom apartment. As compared to the other safes I had in the past and currently have now, this is my favorite and I am very happy with this purchase: it is of a perfect size for my apartment but also compact enough to stay hidden from plain sight. As you can see from one of the pictures posted, it nicely can hid behind a mirror stand.
The quality is great…perfect combination of thickness of metal vs overall weight.
The initial set up was easy even though the emergency key hole was very flush and took me a focused look to find it (which is good for anyone else trying to find and pick the lock)
Carpeted included inside and is standard in any quality safe.
The keys are quality too…some other safes come with flimsy keys that I worry could break or snap easily. This one is durable, would last the year of times.
Overall, very happy with this safe - I am considering to buy a second one too." — Xerxes
Reassuring review: "I’ve had it set up for a few days so far and I can say it’s definitely solid and the budget-friendly price makes it a great option for people who need a smaller safe, while It’s lighter than I initially thought, I appreciate the peace of mind it provides in keeping my guns out of reach from the curious little hands of my kids. Just a tip MAKE sure to securely mount it to prevent any potential tipping lol!" — Michele

You can give it as a gift to your father, husband or other gun collector friends.

Helpful review: "I was a bit skeptical of this product, because of it's price, and it's weight, but it really is a great little safe. It seems secure, and functional, and reliable, and is the perfect size to suit my needs.
If you aren't going to bolt this down to the foundation of the floor, I really do recommend weighing it down by putting some weights, or a lot of ammunition on the bottom to weigh it down. Other than that, this thing is great.
It took me about an hour to assemble, but I was taking my time, and was goofing off and watching t.v., and multitasking within that hour, haha.
Over all, I'm very happy with this safe." — Brett Bennett
Trending review: "This is a great safe. I bought this safe to replace my 3 rifle safe and it's perfect. Although my other safe said it holds 3, it was very tight and I could barely close the door. This safe is very roomy. I was able to add my mag rack inside and it's wide enough that I can add my ammo cans inside but I chose to put them on top, which holds perfectly. This safe is well made and the code is easy to setup and works as intended. Installation was a little difficult for me to follow but the Amazon video made it easy to follow. Overall, it's a great safe and my girlfriend complains that I open it too much. That's how much I love it." — Placeholder
Reassuring review: "This safe was kinda hard to put together with one person, but way easier with 2 people which is a good thing because it makes me feel it is really secure, once it’s together it super easy to set up the pin and open and close, I love the space and the shelves on the door, they hold my rifle ammo so easily! The top shelf is solid and it also has some amazing foam rifle barrel mounts to keep your rifle or shotgun from sliding around" — Zach Shoop

5. HOLEWOR - Biometric Safes for Pistols with LCD Display

Top-Rated: 669 ratings

best budget gun safe

Credit: Amazon.com

Highlight: LCD Display of Temperature & Humidity Time, Battery, Unlock State: You can accurately and quickly know pistol safe of temperature & humidity, it is very helpful for the maintenance of guns and weapons. Also you will get the unlock state, battery level & time in real-time, you can set your time. The display stays on for about 10 seconds.

Helpful review: "My likes about this safe:
The lock mechanism operates fairly quiet as to not alert a home intruder. The biometric button and anti-theft cable are on the side of the safe that I prefer. The blue LED interior light gives a nice ambiance that isn't too bright. The digital display of time, temperature, humidity and battery life is a really nice feature.
What would I like better about this safe?
The security cable should be thicker for a safe that's for home use. This comes with the same size cable for the portable HOLWAR case that I also have. I'm using a nylon lock nut instead of the provided fastener so the only way this cable can be removed is to cut the cable (I don't want to drill holes on the top of my night stand). Next, I would like if it came with padding under the lid. I purchased some foam rubber padding and spray adhesive, cut it to fit and applied it myself. Having padding under the lid eliminates noise and protects your contents if it accidentally bumps the lid while removing in a hurry. It bothers me a bit that I had to do that myself instead of coming that way from the factory as it should. The two other safes I own have padding under the lid, including the portable HOLWAR safe that I also own. Also, there is only one latch for this safe and it would be way more tamper proof if it had two. The other safe I own that's the same size as this from a different manufacturer has two latches in the front and is CA DOJ certified. It was also $10 cheaper than this one, and It also has a thicker cable than this one. Finally, I don't like how there's a big bold logo on the top of this safe. It really isn't necessary and it grabs too much attention. It jumps out at you and says "Hey look at me!" but many of these safe companies are also guilty of doing this. Hello, you don't want a safe to be noticed by a thief because that's the first thing they'll go after! A more subdued logo would be nice so I'm considering writing over it with a Sharpie. In conclusion, I almost gave 4 stars for this safe but I knew what I was getting beforehand and bought it anyway. It's still a really nice safe and I don't regret buying it. Don't get me wrong, I really like it, but I would like it even more if it came with those improvements I mentioned." — Walter Horton
Trending review: "The HOLEWOR Biometric Gun Safe has truly exceeded my expectations and has become an essential part of my home security setup. From its lightning-fast responsiveness to its sleek and modern design, this gun safe is an absolute winner.
The biometric feature of this safe is a game-changer. It recognizes my fingerprint in a split second, granting me quick access to my firearms when needed most. The peace of mind that comes from knowing I can swiftly and reliably access my weapons in case of emergency is truly invaluable.
But let's talk about the aesthetics! The HOLEWOR Gun Safe is not just a security solution; it's a statement piece. Its cool and sleek design seamlessly blends into my home decor, and it even adds a touch of elegance to the room. It's no exaggeration to say that this gun safe looks like a work of art.
Installation was a breeze, and the user-friendly interface made setting up biometric profiles a straightforward process. The safe's interior is thoughtfully designed, providing ample space for my firearms while also ensuring they're organized and easily accessible.
I couldn't be more satisfied with my purchase of the HOLEWOR Biometric Gun Safe. It combines cutting-edge technology with an impressive design, offering top-notch security without compromising on style. If you're looking for a gun safe that not only works flawlessly but also adds a touch of sophistication to your home, this is the one to go for." — Isaac
Reassuring review: "Really impressed with this product after researching gun safes and reading some of the lesser reviews. The Safe arrived extremely well packaged and secured in the box. The Safe also came will all necessary parts including batteries and the setting tool (some products nowadays don't). Instructions were easy to follow (a bit small in type size) and programming the Safe was quick and easy for me. Everything works like a charm; the cover opens promptly. Only issue is that the clock seems to set only to military time, but not important. The Safe has decent weight to it, and looks to be well built. It's probably not going to keep out a criminal adult that has time to steal it and break it open, but most safes won't. This safe is absolutely perfect for someone like me that needs to reasonably secure my firearm(s) in my home, may need to get it open fast in an emergency, but still need to keep certain curious hands and eyes away from my firearm. Recommend." — Amazon Customer

6. VAULTEK - Smart Safe Pistol Safe with Auto-Open

Top-Rated: 64 ratings

best budget gun safe

Credit: Amazon.com

Highlight: ALL NEW BLUETOOTH 2.0 A highly interactive experience from your smartphone within Bluetooth range of the safe. New features and redesigned UI for managing safe and monitoring activity. Bluetooth can be toggled on/off using the available hotkeys if desired and still maintain all other safe functions. An included RECHARGEABLE LITHIUM-ION BATTERY provides power up to 6 months, and charges in 2.5 hours with the included charging kit.

Helpful review: "After reading numerous reviews and watching several YouTube videos about this safe (the one showing a time lapse of trying to break into the safe is what sold me) I decided to order the VT20 to allow for fast, keyless entry to access my home defense firearm. I have another safe I store my firearms in, so my intention is to travel with this safe and/or keep it handy under my bed at home so my son can't access it.
It arrived extremely well packaged with all the accessories and information easy to read and follow. The battery was 90% when I installed it so I was able to program it right away, downloaded the app and was in business in no time.
The box itself seems remarkably sturdy with no welds, very solid hinges, and a good proximity sensor to light up the keypad. The interior light is bright enough for good visibility but not ridiculous. The interior is well padded and has just enough room for a full size Glock to fit in, plus a spare magazine and a 20 round box of ammunition. Very pleased with the amount of space.
The app leaves room for improvement. I'm on an iPhone so my experience is with the iOS app. The app doesn't have configurable notifications so there's a really annoying disconnect pop up whenever you exit the app. It also doesn't automatically pair back up with the safe when you reopen the app, unless you close the app and then reopen. Otherwise you get to search again to re-pair. Still, the app works well for remote open and has a great range Not sure how much I'll use it but it works. Wish it was Apple Watch compatible so I could swipe to open on my watch but I'll leave that on my wish list for now.
So I charged it up to full, installed the safety cable and ran it through my bed frame. Perfect length and seems sturdy enough. Turned off the lights and found access to be easy and reliable, and the app unlock is very fast and easy, once it re-pairs with the device.
All of the manuals emphasize the amount of training videos on YouTube and discuss the quality control, commitment from Vaultek, and reliability of this safe. So far I'm impressed and pleased with this purchase and it seems to be 100% what I wanted and expected.
Wish List:
Would love and would gladly pay more for this to be American made (it's made in China). Not a simple request but as of right now this price point is on the low to middle of keypad combination safes (I don't see any with Bluetooth) so I'd be ok with paying more for American made. The VT20i with the fingerprint scanner also seems reasonably priced as well, I only passed on the biometric version because it seemed like overkill to have four ways to open the safe (keypad, key, app and the fingerprint scanner). Keypad is highly responsive enough so I'm fine with the VT20
App tweaks noted above would be handy (configurable notifications, auto reconnect and an Apple Watch app).
More keys on the keypad would be handy. 1-5 is all you have and of course none of the numbers I would normally use work without at least a zero. So I had to create a number. This may not be an issue for you if you have a number in mind that uses 1-5. Safe can go up to 8 digits for entry, with a minimum of 4.
So for day one, I'm very pleased. I'll be traveling with this later this month so I'll take this with me (haven't looked up laws about concealed carry where I'm going yet so I may not be packing a firearm) and post an update later. Thanks Vaultek!" — Kordless
Trending review: "After receiving this safe a few weeks ago I decided to order a second one. However, the second one I ordered has the biometric scanner connectivity. I actually bought the upgraded one by mistake. I did not realize Bluetooth was included in the model without the biometric scanner. I just wanted to have the Bluetooth option (lol). Oh well.
I will disable the biometric scanner as all low-nudget scanners are garbage. You need to pay $2500 or more if you want a real fingerprint scanner like you see in the movies. NEVER bet your life on a scanner that comes with a $300 gadget. Budget biometric scanners will never be discerning enough to work correctly every time. As I said, I just wanted a second safe with the Bluetooth option and did not realize I could have purchase the model without the scanner and save some money.
I use this first safe for my ammo and two extra magazines. I use the second one for my Glock 45 MOS and three magazines (one inside the grip, two in the case). My only regret is the safe is not silent when it opens. You can hear the latch release a mile away. Even if you hold the lid close while punching in the codes the latch will still click open very loudly. Be ready to move quickly once the latch clicks and the lid opens because you will no longer have the element of surprise.
I recommend placing your weapon in a ready-to-grab orientation inside the safe. I also suggest you do not crowd the safe with a bunch of stuff that may get in the way of your ability to grab the weapon in a ready state right out of the safe. I initially had an extra magazine too close to the handle. When I practiced opening the safe and grabbing the weapon, my fingers would periodically hit the extra mag causing some hand-confusion resulting in a slight delay. Now that I have removed the clutter I am able to open the safe, draw my weapon, and engage the proper two-handed grip in seconds. I suggest you run drills on this.
The backlit keypad is helpful. The light is a subdued red. When your hand comes near the buttons the keypad backlight comes on. Additionally, the casing is very solid. It will take a bit of effort for someone to get inside without the code. I assume a bench-saw would do it (I don't know tools that well).
Other than the loud latch clicking sound giving away my position I am completely satisfied with the product for the cost. This is about as lease expensive as I am willing to go when it comes to matters of life and death.
Excellent quality for the cost IMHO." — Chi Guy
Reassuring review: "On Jan. 10, 2018 I bought a Vaultek VT20 from Amazon. To say I am delighted is an understatement. The following review is in two parts the first is my original Amazon review. The second is my update including a service call.
PART 1
5.0 out of 5 stars Super Safe fills my needs to a "T"
Before I describe my impression of the VAULTEK VT20 Handgun Safe, I would like to say I bought another similar safe at WallyWorld a week before ordering it. When I order online I do research on the web. I got this impulse buy by looks alone. When I came home & checked it out in other reviews I found, that by dropping it one & a half feet (onto a carpet) it popped open quicker than using the code. My main reason for buying a safe is to keep my 3 & 2 year old Great Grandsons away from my Glock. The 3 Y.O. could pick it up, drop it & get the gun.
The VAULTEK VT20 Handgun Safe came in a satin finish black box with shiny black lettering. It is hinged with a ribbon to stop it in the open position. The box was covered by a white sleeve that had the picture & specs. The box looks as though it would house Silver Flatware. The box is fitted with a high density foam interior. The top holds a folder with the, well written, instruction manual and a quick start guide. The bottom cradles the safe and another smaller black box that holds the battery, charger, USB cable, battery and (talk about attention to detail) a small rounded plastic box with the screws. I enjoyed opening the safe & finding a heavy envelope with the security cable. I set the code in about 2 minutes. The safe is mush heaver and all the door seams are reinforced to make it pry resistant. To be fair the VT20 costs 3X more than the other one but it is worth every penny. Again I have never seen a company so dedicated to the fine details. PS Before retirement I was an Industrial Designer in nuclear equipment. I know quality when I see it.
PART 2
In the 2 years that I've had my VT20 I've only had one small problem. The safe is secure and opens quickly. They claim the battery "can last up to 4 months", mine does much better. When I got mine, I didn't have a smartphone so, I pressed the 5 key it was 3 out of 4 lights on. I waited until it was down to 2 and charged it. That first time was 5 months later. The second time was 1 year 1 month 13 days. Now! 6 months and still all 4 are lit. I now have a smartphone and it has the charge at 97%. This is one incredible safe.
Now for my one problem. After all this time the black background on the keys was rubbing off. I went to vaulteksafe.com ,Support, Warranty & Vaultek Help Center, Submit your warranty request Contact our 5-star support team. That was about 4:00 pm on Sunday Jan. 19, 2020. To my amaizment I got a reply at 4:33 from Seth wanting additional info. I send said info. At 11:43 pm. I got a reply that said in part "You're all set friend! Attached is prepaid return label(PDF) to get your safe back for a full diagnostic evaluation." I used the Fedex return label and sent it on Tue. Jan. 21 @ 2:48 from New Kensington PA. Using tracking I found that it arrived at Altamonte Springs FL on Thu. Jan. 23 @ 10:23 A.M.. The included "Warranty Repair Inspection Report"stated Replaced all keys with new. inspected and tested "Safe Functional. They had it Shipped by Fedex @ 2:30, Yes 4 hour turn around. I received it on Sat. 1/25 @ 1130 A.M.
This is remarkable service. Thank You Vaultek, Seth, Jan P., and anyone who helped. Also a thanks to Fedex great service." — Jack Erwin
